Center gives States and UTs instructions regarding the monkeypox virus outbreak

Mumbai, September 27, UN The Union Health Ministry issued a warning to all states and Union Territories on Friday regarding the monkeypox virus, citing the detection of a new case of clade 1b. India is now the third country outside of Africa to record this kind of case.

The Ministry of Health states that while clade 1's symptoms are comparable to those of clade 2, clade 1 is more likely to experience problems.

The Union Health & Family Welfare Department has ordered that patients suspected of having monkeypox be housed in isolation units, per a directive. As a result, thorough implementation of disease prevention measures has been mandated.

There is also a list of approved testing laboratories included. The directive comprises public awareness campaigns, illness preventive strategies, and unique hospital management procedures.

The Union Ministry of Health has instructed state governments to inspect the preparedness of health facilities following the World Health Organization's (WHO) August 14 declaration of the monkeypox virus outbreak as an international health emergency. Senior officials have also been instructed to lead review meetings at the state and district levels.
